School of Health Sciences – Admissions Policy
1. Educational philosophy/objectives
Our educational philosophy is to foster high-quality, well-cultured health professionals who have a deep understanding of the dignity of life and humans and can contribute to society from a wide range of perspectives. We aim specifically to foster professionals who: 1) can effectively use their professional expertise and skills to contribute widely to society; 2) have high moral standards and can empathically evaluate the physical/psychological/social aspects of those in need of help to provide appropriate support; 3) are proactive in thinking about the relation between health-care and society, and can contribute to the cooperation of medical care, health-care and public welfare as a team or as a leader; and 4) can contribute on an international level with a global mind.
2. Who we seek
  1. Those with a strong interest in medical health care and public welfare, who are eager to contribute to the local/international society.
  2. Those with a high academic and cultural background, have a rich sense of humanity, and are self-driven to learn.
  3. Those who work proactively to solve issues and can work both as a team member or as a leader.
3. Admissions criteria and selection
Our entrance exam will seek for general academic competence necessary for university study, and will value strong interest in medical health care (nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy).
4. Selection process
  < General entrance exam >
1) First round
  • We will examine the applicant’s general academic competence necessary for university study.
  • Assessment/selection will be made through the National Center Test for University Admissions and individual academic achievement test (foreign languages).
2) Second round
  • Selection will focus specifically on the following three aspects: the applicant’s general academic competence necessary for university study, the applicant’s proactive/positive eagerness and motivation towards study, and the applicant’s degree of interest in medical health care (nursing/physical therapy/occupational therapy).
  • Assessment/selection will be made through the National Center Test for University Admissions and an individual academic achievement test (short essay and interview), and the results will be assessed together with the application documents.

  • Selection will focus specifically on the following three aspects: the applicant’s general academic competence necessary for university study, the applicant’s proactive/positive eagerness and motivation towards study, and the applicant’s degree of interest in medical health care (nursing/physical therapy/occupational therapy).
  • Assessment/selection will be made through an essay, application documents (academic achievement evaluation must be above grade A), recommendation letter, interview, and a statement of application.

  • On the premise that the applicant is equipped with satisfactory academic competence necessary for university study, selection will assess specifically the following two aspects: the applicant’s proactive/positive eagerness and motivation towards study and the applicant’s degree of interest in medical health care (nursing/physical therapy/occupational therapy).
  • Assessment/selection will be made through a short essay and interview.
